We had a great week and a wonderful Friday at the Lakeland Homecoming events! I’m so proud of our students for their hard work — the day went smoothly, even though it’s already a long one with everything we have to do. I truly appreciate everyone’s efforts. We’ll have a similar schedule this week with Milford’s Homecoming, so I want to remind parents of a few key details (especially if this is your first MHS Homecoming experience) for Friday, 10/3.

🎉 Highlights & Reminders
- Indy info is coming soon. We’ll be sending parent details + travel forms shortly. Look out for the Ford Field Release Form this week—it’s required for students and roadies.
- Apparel orders are in! Items will be distributed Mon 9/29 after practice.
- Parking reminders
- At Milford, park in marked spaces only (no grass between Heritage lot & practice field).
- At Lakeland, please drop-off/pick-up at the bottom of the band lot drive—no cars in the band lot for safety.
🕒 Milford Homecoming Events – Friday, 10/3
🥁 Morning Battery Performance Plan
- LHS/IA battery members will be excused at 8:00 am to go directly to MHS for the performance at Heritage Elementary. You will return to Lakeland/IA by 9:45 am until Pep Assembly departure.
- Milford battery members will be excused at the end of 1st hour to report to the percussion room, gather equipment, and join the LHS/IA battery. Together you’ll head to Heritage for the 8:40 am performance.
🎶 Pep Assembly
- 1:00–2:00 pm @ MHS
- MHS students meet at 12:30 in Band Room.
- LHS/IA members—please sign up to attend (ride/carpool needed). Excused absence from 12:00 pm through end of day.
🎺 Parade
- Report: 3:45 pm @ Central Park in Milford
- Step-off: 4:15 pm
- Winds/Battery/Guard – Full show uniforms
- Front Ensemble – Report to MHS band room at 5:15 pm in uniform (no parade unless performing)
🍕🏈 Dinner & Game
- Report: 5:15 pm @ MHS Band Room (Pizza dinner provided!)
- Pregame performance: Likely Intro → Ballad (finalized Wednesday)
- Guard & Front Ensemble dismissed after pregame (optional to stay & watch).
- Halftime: Winds play ballad loop for Homecoming Court.
- 3rd quarter off → back for 4th quarter as usual.
