Weekly Update – 9/21/25

Thanks to chaperones, roadies, uniform parents, prop crew, and the lunch crew for another amazing week and show day!

Hereโ€™s your roundup of schedules, reminders, and updates for the week ahead:

๐Ÿ“… Week of September 21 Schedule

Monday, Sept 22 | 5:30โ€“9 PM โ€” Practice at MHS

  • Students should take home full uniforms if left at Milford over the weekend.

Wednesday, Sept 24 | 5:30โ€“9 PM โ€” Practice at MHS

  • Wind/Battery/Guard: Take instruments and equipment home for Fridayโ€™s Lakeland events.
  • Front Ensemble: Will be loaded into trailers Wednesday; perform for the game and reload after halftime.
  • Guard: Weโ€™ll discuss Monday, but youโ€™ll be spinning to 7 Nation Army in the parade.
  • Students with uniforms being altered: available to take home Wednesday.

Friday, Sept 26 โ€” LHS Homecoming (Assembly / Parade / Game)

  • Pep Assembly: 8:54โ€“10:09 AM (LHS/IA students report 8:30 AM in Band Room)
  • Parade: 5:30 PM (Report at 5 PM; Winds/Battery/Guard in full show uniforms)
  • Game ๐Ÿˆ: 6โ€“9:30 PM (Full show uniforms; eat before arrival; 3rd quarter off for concessions)
  • Front Ensemble/Guard: dismissed after halftime performance

Saturday, Sept 27 | 9 AMโ€“12 PM โ€” Practice at Milford

  • Everyone back at Milford for practice.

๐Ÿ‘• Uniform Care & Hair / Makeup / Jewelry Reminders

  • Uniforms: Hand wash carefully with a small amount of detergent; air dry. Do not wash main uniform and cloak together (sequins may get damaged).
    • Many students left uniforms at Milford racks โ€” they need to go home Monday so students have them for Fridayโ€™s parade and game.
  • Hair/Makeup: Keep hair up as for shows; show makeup is optional for football games.
  • Nail Polish: Only straight black polish allowed (no glitter).
  • Jewelry: Keep earrings, nose piercings, etc., small and silver/gold; remove long-term or colorful accessories.
    • This applies for all remaining performances and football games this season.

๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ•บ Homecoming Weeks

  • Back-to-back busy Fridays for LHS and MHS Homecoming.
  • Winds / Guard / Battery: Required at both parades. Front Ensemble (cymbal performers) counted as battery for parades.
  • Entire band: Required at both games.

๐Ÿˆ Lakeland Homecoming โ€” Friday, Sept 26

Pep Assembly:

  • LHS/IA students report at 8:30 AM in Band Room
  • Milford students who can attend: sign up at band room door Monday; ride to Lakeland provided

Parade:

  • Winds/Battery/Guard meet 4:45 PM at Lakeland Band Room in full uniforms
  • Line up for parade at 5:15 PM; parade at 5:30 PM
  • Quick break before heading to stadium at 6:30 PM

Game:

  • Perform pregame tunnel and halftime
  • Halftime: march INTRO/OPENER only, then line up for Homecoming court
  • Play from hit to end of ballad during court announcements (no props)
  • Front Ensemble: report 6 PM for warm-ups; Winds/Battery line up 6:30 PM; Guard/Front leave 7:15 PM

๐ŸšŒ Roadies / Equipment Helpers

  • If you plan to help with roadie duties at away shows, verify attendance with Alan Irvine.
  • Limited passes are available for in-state shows โ€” notify Alan ASAP: 248-807-5131.

  • Fri, Oct 3: MHS Homecoming โ€” Parade & Game (Report 3:45 PM; dinner 5 PM; performance pre-game & halftime)
  • Sat, Oct 4: Practice 9 AMโ€“12 PM at Milford
  • Fri, Oct 10: MS Night with WLMS Bands (Report 3:30 PM at LHS; dinner 5:30 PM; performance 6:30 PM)
  • Sat, Oct 11: Plymouth Canton Show (ALL DAY, times TBD)
  • Sat, Oct 18: Clarkston Show (ALL DAY, times TBD)
